1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high- a nd/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
I prefer natural fibers or blends containing natural fibers, but I also like novelty yarns. I avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand, but I think they have their uses. (Baby clothes, etc.)
2. Do you spin? Crochet?
I don't spin, but I'd love to try it some day. Crochet and I do not get along, but I can do it if I have to. (I crocheted cow slippers for my son last summer.)
3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
I have some allergies, but non to fiber. Strong perfumes and I do not get along well. I also have cat allergies.
4. How long have you been knitting?
I've been knitting a long time(about 30 years?), but not continuously. (Took some 5 or 10 year breaks)
5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Yes, I have an Amazon wishlist.
6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
I like cucumber melon scents, a lot of the others are too strong.
7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
YES! 8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
I like to bead, and I have made one beaded, knitted purse. (With the pearl cotton, sead beads, and 0000 needles. They looked like metal toothpicks.)
9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
I like oldies (80's and 70's stuff) and my computer can play MP3's
10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer?
I like warm colors.
11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
No pets. One husband, one son
12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)
To get completely caught up with work and house work so I can sit and knit without guilt.
13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
I like just about anything. The only yarn that I will never use again is Lion Brand homespun. I hated working with that.

I'm not real found of scratchy acrylics.
15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?

felted purses. I love knitting felted purses.
17. What are you knitting right now?
Too many WIPs!!! I am working on a cotton cardigan, a cotton long-sleeved pullover, and I'm seaming a Klaralund for my sister. I have a few scarves that are in progress as well, but I've been digging the sweaters lately.
18. What do you think about ponchos?
Ponchos are ok with me.
19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
I prefer circular.
20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
I'll knit with just about anything, as long as it is circular.
21. Are you a sock knitter?

23. How old is your oldest UFO?
Only about 1 year. I have restarted knitting after a 10 year haitus.

Can't think of a favorite. I like too many of them.
25. What is your favorite holiday?
26. Is there anything that you collect?
I collect dust and clutter. I really don't collect anything else.

Hope this helps out my secret pal!! Sorry about the delay.

First Finished Object of 1005!!

I started it in 2004, but my first finished object of 2005 is Simply Marilyn. I made it in the suggested yarn, but changed to an olive color. I'm really proud of it, and I plan on posting photos. (As soon as I figure out how!!). Anyway, it is a great start to the year, knittingwise!!

I'm still plotting what to start next. I have several things that really need to be finished before I go on to the next project.

Plus, I spent some $$ at the Hand Paint Heaven January sale. I got two of the grab bags in earth tones. I'm hoping to use these for some summer things, so I got cotton. Wool in Florida is just not very practical.

I've been really busy knitting Christmas presents....

I've knitted one totebag, one backpack, two purses and a gift bag. (Those are the felted items.) On top of that I've made two dishrags (completely stupid) finished a Klaralund for me, and made waay too many yarn purchases for new projects.

But those are only excuses. I guess my New Year's resolutions will include blogging. I think at least once a week would be a good start.

Merry Christmas world and happy knitting.

I finished knitting another backpack!!

I just finished knitting a second Amanda backpack. It will be one of my sister's Christmas presents. It should be really nice once I get the felting done. Her other present will be a Tartelette poncho. I've started on it three times. I'm hoping this time is the charm! It's a hard yarn for me to work with, but it looks like the results will be beautiful.

I ordered some of the Highland wool from Elann today. I'm planning on making a sweater for myself out of this yarn, but it may become some felted bags if I change my mind. I also want to start knitting some more scarves, but I really want to get some Christmas knitting out of the way. I'm waiting on some yarn for felted bags for my mom and my sister in law. Don't you hate waiting for packages?

Hello World!

Here it is, a blog! I'm joining the wonderful world of knitting blogs. For my real job, I'm a high school chemistry teacher, which I guess sort of inspired the name.

Today has been a very tiring day. I'm not sure why I chose to start this blog today, I haven't had the energy to knit. In fact, I'm making what has to be the world's most boring first blog entry, and then I'm calling it a night!

I did some shopping before school today. I purchased the next mystery project from Inspiration Yarns. It will be a while before it gets here, but it sure sounds like fun!
